Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.
Success also means he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
